Cookie Policy
rev. 8 March 2024
Plexus, through our websites and third-party providers, set and use cookies and other similar technological means to remember your web browser as you navigate between the pages on our sites. This policy explains the types of cookies we use, what we use them for, and how you can control and manage them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files stored in your web browser’s saved data that allow websites to identify you when navigate between a site’s pages or visit a website again after exiting. Besides cookies themselves, web browsers also have other similar technologies, such as “LocalStorage” and “SessionStorage,” that function in a similar way. Some examples of how these technologies can be used include:
- Remembering your web browser after you log in to a website, so that it will remember who you are as you move from page to page.
- Temporarily or permanently saving your website preferences or settings. (For instance, your preferred language or home country.)
- Recalling actions you took on a previous website visit, so you can continue where you left off when you return. (For instance, the items you added to a shopping cart.)
- Identifying your web browser’s visiting patterns over multiple websites to better understand your habits and create a more personalized experience (which may include online advertising).
The cookies we use, and why we use them
- Plexus websites use cookies and similar technology to identify your web browser when you first visit our website. This is so that, for example, if you add an item to your shopping cart and later login to the site, we can remember what you wanted to purchase. We also use this information to gain insights into how people navigate our websites to drive continual improvement.
- Plexus websites use cookies and similar technology to identify your account once you log in, so that you can move between different pages/sections of our sites and remain logged-in the whole time. When you log out from our site, we no longer track this information in your cookies (which, for example, allows another user to log in).
- Plexus websites use cookies and similar technology to identify your web browser when you access training or assessment content. This helps us prevent conflicts that could occur if multiple devices or browsers were trying to access the same content at the same time, which could jeopardize quiz/assessment/exam results.
As we explain below, it is possible to block cookies and other similar technologies in your web browser. However, this will prevent some parts of our website from functioning correctly, and may prevent you from purchasing items or accessing them.
Managing Cookies
Your web browser provides ways to manage your use of cookies and similar technologies. Some browsers include a “private” or “incognito” mode that can restrict the way cookies save on your system. You can also change your browser’s settings to accept, reject, or delete cookies. However, as explained above, some aspects of our website may not function as expected without cookies and similar technologies.
